The Nepaug Dam Trail is a scenic, flat trail that hugs the Negpaug Reservoir. There are several walking and biking trails near the reservoir, this particular access point is located on Route 202 directly after the intersection with Route 179. You’ll be able to walk about three quarters of a mile around the reservoir, then reach a gate where you’ll need to turn back.
This trail offers scenic views in every season, and is frequented by cyclists, dog walkers and runners.
Nearby Collinsville offers several great options for lunch or dinner.
The trail doesn’t encircle the reservoir, but travels about one quarter of the way around and then stops. Walking both ways is about a mile; an easy walk with kids, strollers or on a bike.
