Doyle Community Park in Leominster, MA offers hikers, walkers, and runners about 3.5 miles of trails. It is conveniently located right near route 2 and offers a variety of scenery along its short trails. Maintained by the Trustees of Reservations, the trails are virtually always in good shape.

The loop trail at the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve in Wells, Maine is allows for an easy walk through a peaceful, natural setting. Viewing areas set up throughout the trail highlight the most noteworthy viewing spots. This is a thoughtfully planned venue which is great for all nature lovers. We didn't see much wildlife in our time at the Preserve, but we know there is a lot out there. Bring your binoculars!

Chesterfield Gorge offers a 3/4 mile hike with fantastic views. It isn't the longest hike, but there are great views of the gorge nearly the entire way. This one isn't recommended if you have difficulty navigating hilly terrain, but if that isn't an issue then this one is terrific if you want a short but rewarding hike - with or without the kids.
