Gates Pond – Berlin, MA

Located right off route 495 in Berlin, MA, Gates Pond is a popular local walking spot. This loop trail is particularly popular for walking dogs.

There is ample parking and rightfully so.

The sign says Town of Hudson, but the pond and trail are indeed located in Berlin.

The trail is wide and comfortable. It is nearly entirely paved and traversable by most strollers. Sun peeks out here and there through the thick, tall line of trees.

It is a scenic walk the whole way around.

The loop trail is about 2 miles long and pretty easy.

The toughest part is simply finding the trail. GPS may not get you here. Just be sure to go down Taylor Rd. off route 62 (next to 495). It is a dead end but it’s the right way to go.
